Welcome to the official Web site of 100 Faces of Marin, the hottest coffee table book in Marin!

A collaboration by Marin native and veteran newspaper columnist Peter Anderson and award-winning photographer Reggie Henkart, 100 Faces of Marin captures and portrays the soul of Marin. The volume contains an assemblage of Marinites -- famous residents such as Isabel Allende, Thom Johnston (Doobie Brothers), Michael Pritchard, Don Novella (Father Guido Sarducci) -- who will be featured along with local activists, politicians, artists, business movers and shakers, and humorists.

As with the sold-out first edition written in 1991, the new book will be a hard cover volume of at least 250 pages. Anderson is writing, editing and publishing the book as a labor of love honoring the place of his birth. Photographer Henkart’s work bears the stamp of authenticity and artistic interpretation and he has earned a reputation as a compassionate documentarian.

A portion of the book proceeds will benefit Roots of Peace founded by fifth-generation Marin descendant Heidi Kuhn. Roots of Peace is dedicated to eradicating the 70 million-plus land mines scattered across 70 countries.

Each insightful profile is accompanied by a black-and-white photo, making this a great gift for you, or for anyone who loves Marin. Open any page and learn something new about the amazing community you call home. When Anderson published the first version of 100 Faces of Marin, many local businesses purchased multiple volumes to use as premiums for special clients or gifts for staff, family and friends.

"This is a lovely blend of the real Marin, as opposed to the phony 'Only in Marin' stereotypes purveyed by hack columnists South of the Towers. Peter Anderson's crisp, easy prose and Cathy Shine's sensitive photographs add up to a highly effective portrait of a special place." --Herb Caen in 1991 on the first book
